...THOSE WHO EARNESTLY SEEK HIM

This post could be seen as a continuation of my previous post - Let's Get Personal. I talked about bold faith but I wanted to go into detail in order to explain the importance of faith in our daily living.

Hebrews 11:6, "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

1) From this verse, we see that the answer to our prayers is not based on faith that we will receive our heart's desire. It's good to plan and expect good things from God but we receive based on our desire to earnestly seek him.

When I desired to work for the 'reputable company', I mentioned in my previous post that my focus was on getting the job. My prayers and everything I did was to get the job. While that shows commitment, that's not what pleases God. When God chooses to bless you, He will do so regardless of the opposition, what you know or where you've been. All he needs is that you believe that he exists and you earnestly seek him.

2) Now why did I get weary and numb...Why did the sudden rejection break me down? That would be because my focus was on trusting God to give me my desires. It wasn't trusting him to give me his best. When you have your mind made up and you've convinced yourself that your expectation is the perfect one for you, anything different will result in disappointment. However, when you trust in God and know that his will for you is of Good and not of evil and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him, you don't try to figure out how it will happen, you simply trust that it will happen.

3) Even if God promises you something at the beginning of the year, it would be dumb to sit and wait for something to happen or consistently pray about it without putting action behind your prayers. Afterall, faith without works is dead. Yes, God wants to bless you but he also needs your consent. Afterall, He won't go against his word when he gave you freewill. You need to be willing to move your feet when he says move.

In summary, faith in God means believing in him and that he is willing and able to reward those that earnestly seek him. Trying to figure it out in our own strength takes the place of faith and leaves you frustrated. Lastly, it is important to put action behind your faith as you are the vessel God needs to perform the miracle.
